Director – Business Development

The Cayman Registry, a division of Cayman Maritime, was established in 1903 and today the Register covers the full spectrum of vessel types, including commercial ships and private pleasure yachts. Reporting directly to the Global Director – Commercial Services and as Director of Business Development you will be working in an international and dynamic environment, with lots of opportunities for personal and business growth. You will be part of our Global Commercial Services team where innovation, integrity and a good team spirit are highly valued.

The role is client facing with focus on revenue generation and ensuring exceptional client services are maintained across the organisation. In addition to the acquisition of new clients, you will also be expected to develop and maintain existing client relationships, often acting as the single point of contact. You will act as an individual contributor, but closely collaborate with the Commercial Services team, the local service delivery teams and other cross functional stakeholders to ensure best client experience.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
For this role we are looking for an entrepreneurial and solution minded individual who knows her/his way around the Maritime Sector and who is eager to further grow our organisation together with the rest of our team.

To perform this job effectively the post holder must have a proven track record in a similar senior position and satisfy the following minimum requirements:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or Engineering. Advance degrees would be a plus;
  • A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated business services in a position requiring the management of corporate accounts;
  • Knowledge of and experience in the Maritime Sector is preferred;
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills that have resulted in building business relationships of trust, confidence, and delivering business results (client refence if available will be valuable);
  • Experience developing and leading relationships with C-Level, Vice President, and Director-level executive with demonstrated success in identifying, initiating and nurturing new business opportunities;
  • Ability to travel regularly globally;
  • Experience working to and exceeding targets;
  • Self-motivated, can work well both independently and in a team;
  • Creative talents and the ability to solve tough problems.
