CISR Converts to Euros

GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman, B.W.I. - The Cayman Islands Shipping Registry (CISR), a division of the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI), will henceforth convert its European-based billing operations from the U.S. dollar to the Euro. The change will go into effect from 1st February.

"This will affect our European, Middle and Far East operations," explains Mr. Kenrick Ebanks, MACI’s Director of Finance & IT, "and will be an added convenience for our valued clients in those parts of the world."

Work currently in progress will not be affected by the change and will continue to be billed out in U.S. dollars, Ebanks pointed out.

The change to Euros will not affect the CISR office in George Town, which will continue to bill in U.S. dollars. Nor will it affect the Registry’s North/South Americas and Caribbean operations, which will likewise continue to use the U.S. dollar.

Headquartered in George Town, CISR has offices and/or representation in the U.S., U.K., Greece, Japan, and will soon be launching an office in Cannes, on the French Riviera, to further facilitate service to its numerous mega-yacht owner-clients located in the Mediterranean.

The Cayman Islands Shipping Registry was established here in 1903 and today the country’s prestigious Red Ensign is seen flying from the sterns of ships of all size and description around the world, further broadening Cayman’s rich maritime heritage.
