Seafaring or shore–based, there are hundreds of great jobs that make up the industry – naval architects, marine surveyors, marine engineers, geologists, oceanographers – even law, finance and IT can become your path to success in a maritime career!
The Maritime Scholarship is your ticket to an incredible and rewarding career in one of Cayman’s leading industries.
Each year, Cayman Maritime – in partnership with the Ministry of Education – offers young Caymanians the opportunity to earn their undergraduate, postgraduate or professional qualification in any of the following areas:
- Marine engineering
- Marine surveying
- Maritime administration
- Nautical studies
- Naval architecture
Specialist areas that support the industry will also be considered, including maritime legal services, human resource management, accounting and IT.
Applicants must:
- Be Caymanian or hold Caymanian Status
- Provide proof of residency in the Cayman Islands for 5 years prior to application
- Be 18 or older (at Education Council’s discretion)
- Provide proof of acceptance at a competitively ranked college or institution
- Have a genuine interest in the maritime industry
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, work ethic and character
