Greg Evans, Global Director Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI) had the pleasure to meet with Revd. John Attenborough, Port Chaplain, the Mission to Seafarers (MtS) to discuss the incredible work of the MtS and the support they provide to Seafarers worldwide.
Revd John set out some of the many initiatives of the MtS and their day-to-day activities in ports and onboard ships all around the globe.
MACI’s CEO and Senior Management selected the Mission to Seafarers as their chosen organisation to receive a donation to enable them to support seafarers worldwide. A. Joel Walton MACI’s CEO commented “the Cayman Islands has a rich seafaring tradition, and its Maritime Authority is passionate about seafarer standards and welfare, we recognise the amazing work of all seafarers worldwide and are delighted to support the efforts of the Mission to Seafarers.”
James Hatcher, MACI’s Shipping Master commented: "As the Shipping Master for the Cayman Islands, I am delighted that the Maritime Authority is able to support the excellent work of the Mission to Seafarers, who assist seafarers and their families across the globe, dealing with the multitude of issues which they may encounter not least separation from their families during the traumatic times such as the recent COVID-19 pandemic".
