The Cayman Islands Shipping Registry and the Jersey Ships’ Registry are most certainly competitors on the broad scale of pleasure yacht and commercial vessel registration, but they also share alliances that have sparked the decision for the two Red Ensign Group agencies to join forces and attend the prestigious Cannes Yachting Festival together.
The Cannes Yachting Festival is one of the world’s most famous in-water boat shows that brings leaders of the boat-building industry who are launching their new models, brokers, buyers, service providers and product suppliers together in the magical city of Cannes. Thousands of visitors will view more than 580 boats and more than 150 world premiere editions.
The Cayman Islands Shipping Registry and the Jersey Ships’ Registry were co-exhibiting to promote the benefits to vessel owners of flying the Red Ensign, including: the legal infrastructure based on familiar English Common Law; high quality of service; the impeccable reputations for safety and compliance; the recognition of adherence to global standards; and the strength of their respective financial services offerings, which provide one-stop shopping for clients looking for operations assistance, such as banking, administration and legal expertise, all in one place.
Both the Cayman Islands and Jersey have long histories in the ship registry business, with over 310 years of experience between them.
