Expression of Interest Technical Services – Worldwide

The Cayman Registry, a division of Cayman Maritime, was established in 1903 and today the Register covers the full spectrum of vessel types, including commercial ships and private pleasure yachts. The Registry maintains headquarters in the Cayman Islands and a European Regional Office in Southampton, UK, with global representation in the USA, UK, Italy, France, Netherlands, Monaco, Greece, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan.

The Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI) is currently seeking applications for suitably qualified companies/individuals to undertake technical services on behalf of the Cayman Islands Government. Ideally this position would suit those companies/individuals who reside in Europe but are prepared to travel to other global locations as necessary.

Predominantly the services provided will include:

  • Surveys, audits and inspections of existing merchant vessels and super yachts
  • Overseeing new build super yacht construction
  • Issuing Statutory Documentation; and
  • Providing Flag State support to clients

Only applicants with a proven Class or Flag State related background providing similar services to the shipping industry should apply. A thorough knowledge of International Conventions, Regulations and Codes is essential, together with a proven track record of Superyacht new construction.

In addition to the above the successful applicant will have successfully completed a Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture Degree (or equivalent) and have worked in the capacity of a Marine Surveyor with a Classification Society, or recognised Flag State.

Ideally, the authorised individual will be registered with the Engineering Council as a Chartered Engineer and be member of a recognised professional body.
