New Director in CISR UK Office

The Cayman Islands Shipping Registry (CISR) is pleased to welcome Greg Evans back to its UK office as the new Deputy Director of Safety & Survey (for Europe).

The UK office also bids farewell to Roger Emtage, its previous Deputy Director of Safety & Survey (for the UK), as he moves forward into his new consultative role.

Greg Evans first joined the CISR at its UK office in March 2003 as a marine surveyor, bringing with him over 20 years of combined marine engineering and surveying experience. In May 2003, he moved to the George Town (Cayman Islands) office where he was later promoted to Senior Marine Surveyor. During this time, Greg led a team of multi-disciplined specialist surveyors to meet the July 2004 implementation date of International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code for Cayman registered vessels.

Greg says, "This was very challenging due to the short implementation date of the regulations, but was possible to achieve due to the professionalism and commitment of the team of surveyors in the George Town and UK offices."

Today, in his new role Greg is responsible for the daily operations of the UK office with three administration staff and five surveyors. He is also now in charge of Safety and Survey for the CISR’s offices in Greece and Holland.

Greg continues to be optimistic about the future of the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry and its satellite offices, and is confident that the multicultural staff and high level of expertise is the key to its success.
