The Cayman Registry Maintains Tokyo MOU White List Recognition for 17th Consecutive Year

The Cayman Registry is proud to confirm that the Cayman Islands has retained its place on the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding (Tokyo MOU) White List for the 17th consecutive year, continuing its long-standing record as a high-performing flag administration in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Tokyo MOU White List recognises flag administrations demonstrating consistently strong performance based on inspection and detention records over a rolling three-year period.

The latest Tokyo MOU Annual Report confirms that Cayman-flagged vessels recorded zero detentions during 2025, achieving a 0% detention rate across 36 inspections conducted throughout the region. This result further reinforces the Cayman Islands’ commitment to maintaining the highest international standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Joel Walton, CEO of the Cayman Registry, commented:

“This continued recognition reflects the collective efforts of our dedicated team and the ongoing support of our vessel owners, managers, crews, recognised organisations and industry partners. Maintaining White List status for 17 consecutive years is an achievement we are extremely proud of and one that demonstrates the quality and professionalism associated with the Cayman flag.”

The Cayman Registry thanks its clients, partners and the wider maritime community for their continued trust, collaboration and commitment to maintaining the highest standards across the industry.
